2025 PICCOLO Training Registration

Welcome to the PICCOLO training registration page!

All sessions will run from 8:00am-4:30pm, with a 1hr break for lunch on your own.

What's PICCOLO? - A Tool for Increasing Developmental Parenting. PICCOLO (Parenting Interactions with Children:  Checklist of Observations Linked to Outcomes) is a reliable, valid observational measure of developmental parenting. Developmental parenting is what parents do to support their children's development and what many parenting programs aim to increase.  In this session, practitioners who work with parents of children ages 1 to 3 will learn about PICCOLO, its conceptual basis, how it was developed, and its reliability and validity. Short video clips of parent-child interactions will provide examples of PICCOLO behaviors and be used for discussions of how to use the measure effectively to increase developmental parenting.

Participants will also be guided through a systematic way of planning feedback from observations and practice providing PICCOLO feedback to a family.  Further discussion will focus on ways to use the measure and its results effectively to plan future home visits.

Please note:
